Our Perfect Wedding

I'm not sure what words I could say to describe our wedding. It was so perfect in every way solely because I was marrying the man better than I had dreamed of. I was giddy with excitement to finally be a family and start our lives. I couldn't help be feel incredibly blessed for the family I have and the family I gained. It was a moment in life that was perfect.

We got married at Meridell Park a historic dance pavilion. It wasn't what we had initially planned on, we had our sights on being sealed in the Temple. Due to my temple divorce we weren't able to in that time frame. I struggled with this for some time because I wanted this wedding day to be the special day Dave deserved. He couldn't have handled the situation any better. He helped me understand that it was just a step to where we want to be. We both agreed that it was best that we get married and plan for a temple sealing a year later. Looking back it just seems like that is how it was always suppose to be. We were able to have family and friends there that wouldn't have been able to be there otherwise, and that I cherish. It was small and intimate, semi-non traditional and perfect for us.

We were so excited to see each other that day and it just seemed surreal that it was finally here. I love the moment my eyes met his walking down the isle. I didn't notice anything but him. When I stood across from him ready to make my vows I thought of what an honorable man he was and the trust my heavenly father had in me to be the wife he deserves. I know he will do many great things in this life and I am honored to share that journey with him. His spiritual strength and his capacity to love inspire me to be a better person. Not only did I know he would be a great husband, but I knew he would be a great dad.

Saturday afternoon Dave's parents planned a great luncheon at Portneuf Valley Brewing. They have a loft upstairs that was perfect for us. Linda put so much effort into decorating the place and it all turned out amazing. We love their pizza and sarsaparilla.

Saturday evening we had our reception at Changing Seasons. The first time Dave and I saw the space we were sold. It was perfect for what we had in mind. Our parents and friends helped out tremendously and we couldn't have done it without them. My parents draped burlap across the ceiling and made cool mason jar chandeliers. LD put together beautiful centerpieces and a floral chandelier that was perfect. We did a Hot Cocca Bar with lots of toppings and an assortment of cookies. Our moms were so great to help with the food. It was all so delicious and I may have taste tested one too many cookies.

We staying at the Destinations Inn in Idaho Falls Saturday evening and spent the day with Dave's family before his sister had to return to Colorado.

It was a whirlwind of a week, but all the blood, sweat and tears were 100% worth it because we had the time of our life and it was exactly what we had dreamed of. A big thank you to all our friends and family that helped. We LOVE you!
