Engagement Pics

Get ready for a picture overload. Bobbi Thompson with Journey Photography did our engagement pictures and I'm so in love with them there aren't words. The stars aligned for us and we had a beautiful sunny day in a not so sunny winter. The weather was absolutely freezing, but in the end it was worth it!

When I look at these pictures I'm reminded once again that I'm the luckiest wife and mom. I have a beautiful family. I don't mean to gush but my husband is so hot! I think to myself all the time "are you for real?" He is just as cute in real life as he photographs. We have some crazy chemistry that can't be denied. And if a cute husband wasn't enough I have an adorable baby girl that has eyes you could get lost in. I count my blessings everyday because of these two.

The proposal

I'm sure as most of you know or have figured out I got ENGAGED!!!! Here is the rundown

Dave and I met in late September. We hit it off and soon couldn't get enough of each other. Not only was he the best man I could hope for, but he was so great with Rilynn. He loved us both a lot and we created many good memories together.

We soon understood the plan that God had for both of us. Dave couldn't understand why none of the girls he had previously dated weren't "the one" and I had spent many days being depressed I would be a lone for a long time. Neither of us knew that we would soon find each other and be happier than we knew possible. God really does have a plan for us and I feel so blessed for all the trials and stumbling blocks that have given me the most adorable baby girl and amazing husband.

Everything about our relationship has just fit with no effort whatsoever. We fit so perfectly into each others family. Many of the trials and experience we have both gone through have molded us into the people that we need for each other. Dave and his family have always been so open to Rilynn and I and immediately considered both of us as part of the family.

Now the proposal. Dave knew it had to be a surprise because he knows how big I am for surprises. I know that wasn't easy because I was already expecting it. He was very tricky in his ways because I had no idea it was coming! We went out for dinner to my favorite restaurant on Jan 5th, which I thought was a spur of the moment decision. Then with an elaborate story, that I totally believed we ended up back at my house. Without a baby in tote and a barking dog to greet us we walked into the house from dinner. His family had just been to the house and set everything up. I thought the kitchen was on fire because it was glowing when we walked in. Then I realized there was music playing and I rounded the corner to find a dozen red roses and lots of candles. Dave does nice things for me all the time so it still didn't hit me until he pulled the ring out of the rose. Then I'm sure you can guess what happened next. It was such a sweet private moment that I will never forget. I love this man with all my heart and I'm so excited to spend my eternity with him. Oh and I can't forget to mention the ring! I still can't believe this is my ring forever. It is kind of AMAZING!! My man did well and he certainly spoiled me.

9 months

We have had the busiest couple months and blogging went to the back burner. I was insistent on keeping up on Rilynn's journal, so at least I've done that much. I will be catching up on the best two months of my life! Lots of exciting stuff.
