Honeymooners

So, the wedding planning was fairly quick which meant the honeymoon was a spur of the moment decision but I think it just made it that much more exciting. We booked everything just a month before and it was a little surreal we would be out of the snow and laying on the beach in one short month.

We couldn't have picked a better destination than Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The weather was perfect not to hot but warm enough to live in your swim suite. We had the time of our life and it's something we will always have found memories of. We flew in Monday morning and left Thursday evening. If we didn't have a baby at home that we were missing terribly we would have stayed longer but that was enough time away from the babe.

It was so nice to relax and just be with each other 100% of the time with no distractions. I think that is how every vacation should be. Dave got to use his spanish and I loved hearing him speak like a mexican. Dave was impressed by my super bartering skills. I would say we were a good team in good ole MEXICO!

Although it's always awkward getting pictures of the two of you I didn't care. I wanted to soak in every minute of this heavenly trip and remember it forever. And now you have the awkward honeymoon pics :)

I know my husband is very sexy and yes he should be on a calendar

We were going for the dramatic walking away on the sandy beaches look ;)

I could photograph him all day! oh wait I did

Our Perfect Wedding

I'm not sure what words I could say to describe our wedding. It was so perfect in every way solely because I was marrying the man better than I had dreamed of. I was giddy with excitement to finally be a family and start our lives. I couldn't help be feel incredibly blessed for the family I have and the family I gained. It was a moment in life that was perfect.

We got married at Meridell Park a historic dance pavilion. It wasn't what we had initially planned on, we had our sights on being sealed in the Temple. Due to my temple divorce we weren't able to in that time frame. I struggled with this for some time because I wanted this wedding day to be the special day Dave deserved. He couldn't have handled the situation any better. He helped me understand that it was just a step to where we want to be. We both agreed that it was best that we get married and plan for a temple sealing a year later. Looking back it just seems like that is how it was always suppose to be. We were able to have family and friends there that wouldn't have been able to be there otherwise, and that I cherish. It was small and intimate, semi-non traditional and perfect for us.

We were so excited to see each other that day and it just seemed surreal that it was finally here. I love the moment my eyes met his walking down the isle. I didn't notice anything but him. When I stood across from him ready to make my vows I thought of what an honorable man he was and the trust my heavenly father had in me to be the wife he deserves. I know he will do many great things in this life and I am honored to share that journey with him. His spiritual strength and his capacity to love inspire me to be a better person. Not only did I know he would be a great husband, but I knew he would be a great dad.

Saturday afternoon Dave's parents planned a great luncheon at Portneuf Valley Brewing. They have a loft upstairs that was perfect for us. Linda put so much effort into decorating the place and it all turned out amazing. We love their pizza and sarsaparilla.

Saturday evening we had our reception at Changing Seasons. The first time Dave and I saw the space we were sold. It was perfect for what we had in mind. Our parents and friends helped out tremendously and we couldn't have done it without them. My parents draped burlap across the ceiling and made cool mason jar chandeliers. LD put together beautiful centerpieces and a floral chandelier that was perfect. We did a Hot Cocca Bar with lots of toppings and an assortment of cookies. Our moms were so great to help with the food. It was all so delicious and I may have taste tested one too many cookies.

We staying at the Destinations Inn in Idaho Falls Saturday evening and spent the day with Dave's family before his sister had to return to Colorado.

It was a whirlwind of a week, but all the blood, sweat and tears were 100% worth it because we had the time of our life and it was exactly what we had dreamed of. A big thank you to all our friends and family that helped. We LOVE you!
